Governor

Governor Tom Wolf (D)

Tom Wolf

Gov. Wolf signed a bill that cut funding to charter schools by $488 million dollars and is opposed to school choice programs. Wolf is opposed to public funding for school choice vouchers, so his plans to “work tirelessly to make sure that every child, regardless of his or her zip code, receives the best possible education” evidently doesn’t include helping low-income families have access to the schools of their choice. The governor also recently vetoed a bill that would have elevated teacher evaluations above tenure when principals decide whom to layoff.
