Governor

Governor Charlie Baker (R)

Charlie Baker

Gov. Baker aggressively advocates for charter schools and proposals to allow for more in the state. Gov. Baker believes in expanding the opportunity to attend a charter school to all students who choose to attend. He once noted that current lottery system is putting parents and kids in “a game of chance in which the vast majority are going to lose.” He believes in expanding opportunity to more students and is a supporter of programs to improve teacher quality, thought no currently on his agenda.
