Governor

Governor-Elect Michelle Lujan Grisham (D)

The defeat of Congressman Steve Pearce by his congressional colleague Michelle Grisham was a disappointment, but the Governor-elect does seem open to some new ideas. She supports adoption of rigorous competency-based Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) standards in classrooms and wants every student to have access to computer science instruction. She also supports dual-degree technical programs, access to apprenticeships, and directly involving businesses in classroom courses that are relevant to employer needs.  Will this new woman executive work to advance opportunity further? Let’s hope!
