Governor

Governor-Elect JB Pritzker (D)

The defeat of Governor Bruce Rauner by businessman J.B. Pritzker was one of the most disappointing results on election night, with a vocal supporter of new thinking in education being replaced by a seeming opponent.  CER though will aggressively reach out to Governor Pritzker to insure that he is aware of the many different avenues that now exist to rescue students in failing schools – of which there is no shortage in Chicago. There’s always the hope that the Amazing Grace lyrics, “I once was blind but now I see”, can apply to politicians and new paths toward educational success.
